The beautiful auditorium sponsored by the Sterling Trust founded by the late Mzee Jasani was blessed by Rev. Fr . Simon Asira SDB , the Salesian Provincial of Eastern Africa in the presence of Mr. Shashi Shah, the Trustee of the Sterling Trust and many Salesians, the neigbouring communities, students of St. Joseph Cathedral Secondary School besides some of our staff and students. Mr. Shashi Shah then officially inaugurated the auditorium by cutting the ribbon. Together with Fr. Provincial he unveiled the plaque to commemorate the occasion. We had several speeches and items to entertain the guests. Fr. Babu while welcoming the guests of honour and other guests took time to thank the late Mzee Jasani for his vision. He dealt on the various virtues and values he cultivated. Mzee Jasani had all the ailments we can think of with regard to his heart, kidneys, and lungs. But instead of bemoaning about his ailments and poor health he used the great intelligence with which he was blessed especially in doing business to help the less fortunate in the field of education and health. The Trustees of the Sterling Trust, Mr. Bharat Thaker and Mr. Shashi Shah were specially thanked by Fr. Babu on behalf of Don Bosco Oysterbay community for keeping up the vision of Mzee Jasani. Ms. Gisela Hubling and Ms. Patrice Good who are responsible for the finances of the Trust too were thanked for their promptness. Fr. Provincial thanked the Sterling Trust for their generosity so that the facilities could be used for the wholeround formation of the young people. Mr. Shah who spoke last assured the continued support of the Sterling Trust and expressed his hope that Mzee Jasani would continue to bless from above. He congratulated the Don Bosco Fraternity for the good relationship that we have with the Government of Tanzania which has helped Don Bosco to assist thousands of needy young people last year . The celebration of the day ended with refreshments for everyone and a basketball match between Don Bosco V.T.C. and the Oratory which the VTC team won comfortably. LONG LIVE MZEE JASANI!
