This course of Tailoring began at Don Bosco Oysterbay in October 2016. The equipments for the tailoring department were sponsored by Via Don Bosco of Belgium, an agency which has been financially supporting  the Technical schools of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Tanzania.

The idea of starting the Tailoring department was to create jobs for our young people as the Textile industry was in need of about 9000 employees. Though we expected to get many students we got only ten students in October 2016. We employed three teachers and began this department immediately hoping that this department could also generate some income for the college to run the various activities of the college. Hence we took orders of making school uniforms and t-shirts. We are happy that many students are now applying for this department. Congratulations to our first batch of 10 girls who graduated on 28th April 2017.
